So the Yellow Pages has a new look!
I received a letter this morning from Yell informing me that the famous Yellow Pages directory has been redesigned to make it better.
Apparently they’ve split it into two distinct sections. Business paying advertisers will now appear at the front and general free listings are now in alphabetical order at the back. This means paid for ads will stand out.
Apparently their research suggests that the changes could increase usage by up to 12%. Their research as far as I could ascertain was in two small areas back in 2009.
Now I would suggest this research is already out of date. How have they’ve bucked the trend from online searches back to paper when all other research in this area points to online searches still growing at huge monthly increments and the traditional methods trailing off and bottoming out?
The compact size maybe easier to fit in the letter box but it’s just as easy as it ever was to drop in the recycling facility.
Meanwhile the online business directory Wampit celebrates it’s first year with 350,000 business listings and 60,000 unique monthly visitors to it’s site.
